“Do your part, care for your heart.” Yes, if your heart is healthy, then you will live a long life. Today’s humans are living a hustle and bustle life. If anyone gets a heart attack suddenly, our body keeps giving us a constant message that our heart is not healthy. Do not ignore the message that your body is giving us. Dr. Abhishek Vikram Singh, Director, Infinity Care Hospital, Varanasi, says that the number of patients with heart-related diseases in India is increasing day by day. Bad lifestyles, smoking, and excessive consumption of alcohol weaken our hearts. Some symptoms start to appear about a month before a patient has a heart attack. If you understand these symptoms and go to the doctor at the right time, then you can avoid any major untoward incident.
Some of the early symptoms of a heart attack include the following:
- Mild chest pain
- Shoulder, neck, and jaw discomfort
- Breathlessness
- Nausea or vomiting.
- Sweating
- Severe anxiety
- Lightheadedness
Dr. Singh says that men are more likely to have a heart attack if they are over 45 years of age, and women over 55 years of age.
This can be due to a heart attack.
Heart attacks are caused by an irregular diet due to a busy lifestyle, eating junk food, or eating more spicy foods.
Genetics: A higher risk of heart attack can also be inherited.
Blood pressure: Due to high blood pressure, there is unnecessary stress on the heart.
Obesity: Excess weight gain puts a strain on the heart.
Addiction: Smokers and substance abusers are at increased risk of heart attacks.
Shift workers who work in stressful environments or who experience prolonged stress in their personal lives are at risk of having a heart attack.
Apart from these, angina, i.e., lack of oxygen in the heart, high cholesterol levels, body inactivity, and diabetes are risk factors for heart attack.
